At Aadi Space, we are building state of the art space logistics satellite platform capable of offering flexibility of orbit insertion, orbit relocation and much more. This breakthrough will respect the economics of Space Accessibility , Mobility and logistics (SAML) missions for the In-Space Servicing, Assembly and Manufacturing (ISAM) Market.

As a Principal GNC Engineer, you’ll spearhead the development of sophisticated flight control algorithms, guiding everything from orbital maneuvers to zero proximity ops (ZPO). This role combines hands-on engineering with mission-critical leadership. You’ll work across simulation, embedded systems, and real-time operations to deliver end-to-end solutions that are key to unlocking scalable and sustainable access to space.

Job Duties
* Lead the development of high-fidelity 6-DOF simulation environments and Monte Carlo test frameworks
* Architect and validate advanced GNC algorithms for spacecraft state estimation and control
* Design fault detection, isolation, and recovery (FDIR) strategies in coordination with subsystem engineers
* Implement sensor fusion and filtering techniques, including extended Kalman filters
* Deploy embedded flight software for trajectory control and attitude management
* Support system-level design trade studies for GNC-relevant hardware and software components
* Integrate and test systems in hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) environments
* Drive mission planning, flight ops, and CONOPs for orbital and reentry phases
* Collaborate with teams across avionics, propulsion, software, and mechanical engineering to deliver a flight-ready vehicle
* Participate in hands-on testing and validation of integrated spacecraft systems

Qualifications
* B.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Control Systems, or a closely related discipline
* 8+ years of professional experience working on GNC systems for spacecraft or autonomous systems
* Strong command of estimation algorithms including Kalman and batch filters
* Proven experience with GNC algorithm development and system validation for flight applications
* Proficiency in Python (NumPy, SciPy, PyTorch), C++, and Git-based version control
* Experience with dynamic modeling, simulation development, and controls analysis
* Hands-on mindset and comfort with rapid integration and testing cycles

Preferred Experience
* M.S. , Ph.D. in a relevant engineering or physics field
* Deep knowledge of orbital mechanics and reentry trajectory planning
* Experience with space-based propulsion systems and vehicle navigation
* Background in robotic systems, autonomous guidance, or dual-use satellite programs
* Familiarity with embedded computing platforms and real-time flight software
* Prior exposure to HITL environments or mission operations workflows

Job Duties •    Develop, test, and deploy robust flight software systems that coordinate timing, synchronization, and real-time control of spacecraft modules.
* Implement and validate algorithms for real-time spacecraft communication, data handling, and system monitoring.
* Integrate and optimize complex Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) software components within the flight software architecture.
* Establish and maintain Hardware-In-The-Loop (HITL) and Software-In-The-Loop (SITL) simulation environments for flight software verification.
* Collaborate closely with hardware and systems engineering teams to ensure seamless integration and functionality across spacecraft subsystems.
* Analyze and interpret flight and simulation data to continuously refine flight software performance.
* Manage complete software lifecycle activities, including requirements gathering, coding, debugging, documentation, and deployment.
* Collaborate with teams across avionics, propulsion, software, and mechanical engineering to deliver a flight-ready vehicle * Participate in hands-on testing and validation of integrated spacecraft systems

Qualifications     •    5+ years of experience in real-time embedded software development, ideally in aerospace or similar mission-critical environments.
* Proficient in C++ and Python, with experience developing software for embedded systems.
* Experience with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) and familiarity with embedded Linux environments.
* Strong understanding of communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, Ethernet, CAN, RS422, or RS485.
* Knowledgeable about networking protocols including UDP and TCP/IP.
* Demonstrated capability in software version control systems, continuous integration, and delivery processes.
* Comfortable with embedded software debugging tools and hardware interfaces. * Hands-on mindset and comfort with rapid integration and testing cycles


Preferred Experience
* Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline.
* Experience with spacecraft operations including timing synchronization, orbital maneuvers, or formation flying.

* Experience with radar, LiDAR, or RF-based localization techniques.

Job Duties

* Build and deploy real-time computer vision algorithms to detect, classify, and track objects in motion using high-speed video feeds
* Architect, implement, and optimize ML models for performance on embedded systems with strict power and memory constraints
* Integrate software solutions with embedded platforms, including camera systems, image sensors, and custom compute hardware
* Own end-to-end development of video processing features, from design to testing to production-level deployment
* Continuously evaluate new research in machine learning and visual perception to improve performance and expand capabilities
* Perform debugging and performance tuning of video pipelines running on multi-core or GPU-accelerated architectures
* Mentor junior engineers and participate in peer reviews and collaborative design discussions
* Document algorithmic design decisions, interface specifications, and testing methodologies clearly and concisely
* Collaborate closely with hardware and systems engineering teams to ensure seamless integration and functionality across spacecraft subsystems.
* Manage complete software lifecycle activities, including requirements gathering, coding, debugging, documentation, and deployment.

Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or related field
* 4+ years of hands-on experience building machine learning or computer vision algorithms for production use
* Strong programming background in Python (NumPy, SciPy, PyTorch), and C/C++, with an emphasis on real-time systems and embedded development
* Familiarity with model optimization techniques for embedded deployment, including quantization and pruning
* Experience working with ARM-based SoCs, SoMs, microcontrollers, or FPGAs
* Proficiency in software-hardware integration and debugging, including use of simulators or profiling tools
* Solid knowledge of classic image processing methods and camera system fundamentals
* Exposure to Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) and familiarity with embedded Linux environments and performance optimization for latency-sensitive applications
* Demonstrated capability in software version control systems, continuous integration, and delivery processes.
* Comfortable with embedded software debugging tools and hardware interfaces. * Hands-on mindset and comfort with rapid integration and testing cycles

* Prior exposure to HITL environments or mission operations workflows
* US Citizenship or Permanent Residency strongly preferred due to project sensitivity
